The goal of JET to stimulate passionate Jewish involvement on campus. Through its activities the JET will help build a community on the campus that emulates the values of Jews helping other Jews, Jews learning about and experiencing their cultural and religious heritage and Jews caring about Jewish continuity.
5. To be the spokesperson for the JET whenever necessary.
JET meetings
Each JET will meet a minimal of 15 times during a semester (approximately once per week). Each meeting will last a minimum of 45 minutes. Meetings will be divided into those that are for program planning and reporting (50%) and those that will be for internal education of the JET members (50%).
At least once a year, each JET will have a weekend together to learn
and plan. This may occur together with other JETs from other
campuses.
JET Activities
Each JET will commit to minimally undertake the following activities per semester where they will actively recruit their friends and peers to attend:
One Jewish experiential (e.g. Tu B'Shvat Seder, Challah baking) or learning program
An activity will be defined as one that involves at least fifteen participants, lasts for at least 45 minutes. Substitutes to the above list can be made with prior approval but the cell must maintain a mixed agenda (for example it cannot only run Israel programs).
Stipends and grants
The JET captain would receive $750 stipend per semester.
Each JET member would receive $350 stipend per semester.
Each JET would have a programming budget of $1000 per semester.
